Carry the Canasto with a satin slip dress and flats, or with jeans and a white tank on a Saturday. It's roomy enough for everything, light on the arm, and the pattern is woven into it, not printed on.

Where it comes from
Each Canasto is woven by Tradición Entretejida, a family-run collective of 30 weavers (17 women and 13 men) in Canaán, Guapi, on the Pacific coast of Cauca, Colombia. They harvest two wild plants, Paja Tetera and Chocolatillo, then dry, dye and weave the fibers by hand using a technique of the Eperãarã Siapidaarã people. One bag takes days.

Care
Spot clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Don't submerge. Keep out of long direct sun to protect the natural dyes. If it gets wet, reshape gently and air-dry. Don't overload the handles.
