Bagabaga — Butterfly Earrings
Hand-woven by Embera-Chami women. Inspired by the real butterflies of Colombia.
Bagabaga:
Butterfly — in Embera/Bedea, the language of the Embera-Chami people of Colombia
More than Earrings
These are not butterfly earrings. These are Bagabagas — and the difference matters. Each one is woven by hand by Embera-Chami women in Colombia, in the exact same tradition their grandmothers used — reimagined into a shape that is entirely their own.
Large, bold, and impossible to ignore — the Bagabaga earrings are one of the most extraordinary things you will ever wear. Woven with thread and seed beads using a traditional Embera technique, each butterfly is modeled after a real species native to Colombia. The result is jewelry that is simultaneously ancient and completely contemporary.
Where Tradition Meets the Future
The Bagabagas represent something rare and beautiful — young Embera-Chami artisans exploring the space between their ancestral weaving techniques and contemporary design. Traditional method. New shape. New purpose. This is what living culture looks like — not preserved in a museum, but evolving in the hands of the next generation.

Made by Embera-Chami Women
The Embera-Chami are an indigenous people from the mountainous regions of Colombia. Their women have been master weavers for generations — using thread, beads, and natural materials to create pieces that carry cultural identity, spiritual meaning, and extraordinary skill.
Every Bagabaga you receive was woven by one of these women. Not in a factory. Not by a machine. In Colombia, by hand, with intention.
